Overview

The Art of Effective Advocacy in Arbitration Moots

The Moot Court Forum will conduct a structured series of online workshops from 5 September to 10 October 2026 as a preparatory training program for the 2nd Edition National Inter-University ADR Moot Competition 2027. The workshops will introduce participating law students to the fundamentals of Alternative Dispute Resolution, with particular emphasis on arbitration proceedings, while equipping them with the practical skills required for effective participation in a national moot competition.

The series will combine substantive ADR knowledge with practical legal skills, covering arbitration fundamentals, legal research and analysis, drafting of legal submissions, application of legal authorities, legal reasoning, oral advocacy and presentation of arguments. The training will progressively move from foundational concepts to practical application through interactive sessions, practical exercises, discussions and moot-related assignments.

The workshop series is designed not only as preparation for the competition but also as a practical legal training program that complements students’ academic learning and strengthens their research, drafting, reasoning and advocacy skills. The knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program will subsequently be applied in the 2nd Edition National Inter-University ADR Moot Competition, scheduled for 28–29 January 2027 under the theme “Access to Remedy through Arbitration: Empowering Future Legal Professionals in Business and Human Rights Practice.”
